On January 23 and 24, 2023, the study “Ensuring the legal regime of ownership, transparency of ownership and financing in the audiovisual sector” was presented in the premises of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Moldova.
The authors of the study are the experts of the Association of Electronic Press Vasile State, Ion Bunduchi and Alexandru Dorogan, as well as the international expert Jean-François Furnémont, former president of the European Platform of regulatory authorities EPRA and former president of the Belgian audiovisual regulatory authority.
The presentation of the study was attended by members and representatives of the Audiovisual Council and the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova. The discussion that followed the presentation focused on the need to develop the capacities of the two institutions to prevent and counter the concentration of ownership, discourage anti-competitive practices and support a fair competitive environment, taking over, for this purpose, the most relevant and suitable European models.
